Find out how to Make Beats

By Mick LLaleBeoufey

So you make pop, dance, RB, rap, hip-hop, house or any other beats, but for some reason your drums don't hit as tough as commercially released music and your melodies are not piercing through the speakers like you would like them to. This article will outline 3 simple pointers are going to help you perfect craft and get you on the right route to success.

1. keep it simplistic foolish - I know you have heard this phrase before, but it is the truth. A good piece of music is commonly simple and layered with other simple elements, thus making a cohesive and concentrated piece of music with many elements. The complexity of your music will naturally progress as you keep practicing and mastering your style.

2. Learn Your Tools - Many producers have the misconception of thinking that having the newest gear and music production software makes you a better producer. This is completely untrue. A classic example would be the hip-hop group Dem Franchize Boyz song "Lean Wit' It" which was created using a $50 music production program and generated millions of bucks in sales.

Remember, there are lots of hideous producers out there with $10000 worth or more of kit. The main point being, that its how you use your music production tools and master them, instead of the tools you have!

3. Practice, Read, Research, Interact, Repeat - There are many resources out there on the internet, whether it's music production forums or general music forums. Asking folk on feedback and tips is a good way to both learn and motive yourself. You will change into a better producer because of the sheer competition on such forums and the realization that they will bounce off one another.

In summing up, don't fall into the trap of thinking that your kit, knowledge or skills are not good enough. Just keep creating music and you'll naturally progress into the producer you were always wanting to be, it doesn't occur overnite so work hard, and work smart.
